If person say "someone passed away", how can I respond to that in English ?
If a person say "My uncle passed away last week." or " My father passed away when I was young."
how would I say ??

You say 'I am sorry to hear that' or 'That is very sad news' or some such. If the person passed away a long time ago, you don't need to say anything.

I'm sorry to hear that, but god give everyone his own duty in this world, when he complete his duty he will leave this world, he will overlook us from heaven, what we should do is that make ourselves more perfect then let his proud of us.

In the case of the uncle who passed away recently, after saying something like "I'm so sorry to hear that," you can add, "Please accept my sincere condolences." (People don't use the word "condolences" upon learning of the death of someone who died long ago.)
