Брал или взял? Делал или сделал?
Например по русски: "Я брал" или "Я взял". Есть ли различие в английском языке относительно этих фраз на русском? Пока я знаю только, что это можно перевести как: "I took". Но пока не могу понять, от производимого и произведенного)))

It seems like брал means to take and then return, while взял is to take and keep.
In that case, for брал, the word "borrow" can be used. You don't "take" books from the library so much as you "borrow". Borrowing is not taking and then returning, but it is taking with the intent to return.
If взял means to take and keep, "claim" is a good verb for it. It means to take and assert ownership of. You can also use "steal" if it did not belong to you before you took it.
