Is ‘it’ singular or can ‘it’ be plural too? Is ‘it’ singular or can ‘it’ be plural too? For example can I say, referring to something plural: It are only small errors. Or should it be: It is only small errors. I am almost certain that mostly the first, ‘it are’, is used. But it is strange since ‘it’ is actually just one thing, right?

‘it’ is singular. You can say: It is only a small error. Or They are only small errors [ plural].

It's a remarkable difference with Dutch and German then. You can say "Het zijn kleine fouten" and "Es sind kleine Fehler".
