difference between sport and sports
What is the difference between sport and sports? When do we use both of them? Give examples, please.

in the USA, we refer to the topic of sport as "sports", because it's many kinds of sports. So when we say sports, we think of all kinds of sports: basketball, football, american football, baseball, golf, etc.
"sport" as a generic word means something you do for competition or test of skill.
some people refer to hunting as a "sport", there is an expression "hunting for sport", which means you are hunting but not because you want to eat the animal, but rather, for the challenge.
so, "sport" usually means a certain kind of discipline, basketball, hunting, running, etc.
"sports" typically refers to specific competitive physical activities
