What's the different between "except, except for and besides"? What's the different between "except, except for and besides"? Can I say, "everybody agreed with her except me."? or except for me, besides me? When will you use except and when will you use expect for? besides as well? Thank you.

You can use any of them, and they will all make sense and mean the same thing. "Besides" might be a little more formal. There is no real difference between "except" and "except for", the "for" is implied if it is not used.
