What difference between "good" and "nice"? Example: good year or nice year?

Hello! Good and nice generally mean the same thing depending on what you are referring to. It would be a personal preference to say if you had a good or nice year. However, if you are applying it to a person or pet it could mean two different things. For example, a good boy would mean that he is well behaved and respectful. A nice boy however, tends to mean that the boy is sweet and pleasant.

I also think that describing a thing as "nice" is over-used and is not a specific word. I agree about a nice person and a good person that the other contributor mentioned.
