How would you express "then" in Korean I want to be able to express an order of doing something for example: "josh played the guitar at school *then* he went home" how can I go about doing this in Korean and do need to use words like 그리고 or 그럼 to make this expression?

We can omit 그리고 or 그럼. For example: Josh는 학교에서 기타를 친 후에 집으로 갔다.

You could use 그리고. Like 조쉬 기타를 쳤어. 그리고 집에 가서. I think 그럼 is just a response. Like "Are you leaving? Then I'll see you later." 그럼 갈게.
