Umming and arring Is there an equivalent expression for 'umming and arring' in Italian or would you just use 'thinking', 'considering' etc. Example usage: I was umming and arring about buying it but I left it in the end.

It's the first time I hear this expression. Do you use it in a negative sense? In Italian we say "scervellarsi" when we think about a thing many times, to think and rethink about something. For example, if we don't remember something we say "mi sto scervellando".

Maybe "essere titubanti" or "titubare" or "esitare" or simply "essere indecisi".
