제1과
Can someone explain me this term?
What 제 means?
What 과 means in this term 'cause I know that it usually means 'and'?
Are numbers between 제 and 과 always pronounced as Sino-Korean numbers and why?
In the expression "제1과" or "제일과" the word 제(第, 차례 제) refers to "the order (in the content)", and the word 과(課, 공부할 과/절차 과) refers to "a chapter or process/section".
So "제일과(第一課)" means "the chapter/section one" or "the first section",
