I'm assuming you are trying to say,"type of payment upfront" which means that someone is trying to ask you what form (credit card, cash, checking, ect.) of payment will you be providing up front( before the service is rendered).

I think you meant 'upfront' instead of 'of front.' This means you're going to pay for something(usually in full, but sometimes it could be the first major payment) right as you purchase or order something.
