The answer is "no, but"... Mandarin has around 1300 distinct sounds. English has 5000+. Starting from zero - it is much easier to master Mandarin pronunciation. But... ...there are very few resources available that correctly teach tongue positioning to non-natives (particularly dorsals : j,q,x ;retroflexes : zh,ch,sh,r ; or alvelors ; z,c,s ; even "ng" and "a" are messed up by most non-natives, and the umlaut u is very rarely spoken correctly by non-natives outside of European countries that have a similar sound). If you ask most natives what is the correct tongue positioning and motion for these non-English sounds you will mostly get incorrect or varying answers. Additionally, there are very few resources that will quickly get you nailing down tones, and the best resources here, are often not quick fixes.

Chinese pronunciation is not that difficult，which includes two main parts，Pinyin and tones. Pinyin is easy to learn, just need a good method.Most of my American students can master pinyin within 4 to 6 hours. Once one of my students who is a Swiss mastered pinyin within one hour, which surprised me, because the vowels of his mother language are quite similar to the vowels in Chinese Pinyin. It shouldn't be hard for you either, since you are a music A&R, which is an advantage to learn Chinese pronunciation! It takes a little bit time to be perfect in tones! Please make sure you say it right when you start it, otherwise it will be difficult to correct later. To read Chinese charaters is a little bit hard, but to some degree, it is similar to the word of English,like cat (c-at),pat(p-at),bat(b-at). If you master the radicals and basic characters. You will find it not very difficult to read Chinese characters. To write Chinese character is harder because of the strokes. However, as mentioned, if you master the radicals and basic characters, it won't be too difficult to write the high-frequency Chinese characters. In my opinion, to use the word, phrase or idom properly is much more difficult.
