What does "shiver" mean in the sentence?
eg:He was shivering with t he morning cold. But he knew he would shiver himself warm and that soon he would be rowing.
shiver is vi ,what does it mean in this sentence?or in this it is vt ?and the the grammatical function of "himself" and "warm"?
Please give more specific explanation ,thanks !

Ok, normally shiver is just by itself. "He shivered from the cold" is normal use.
But in this case, it is used to imply you do it so much, it makes you the opposite. It is kind of joking. There are other examples:
To drink yourself sobre (when you drink so much alcohol, you feel you are sobre - you probably are not!)
To snore yourself awake (you snore so loudly, you wake yourself up!)
I can't think of any more now, but I will try to find some!
