In Irish culture marketplaces are generally enjoyed, although true marketplaces seem to be greater in number in the UK, where you can find anything and everything at a great price. Irish marketplaces are generally referred to as 'farmer's markets'. Most people would buy their jams, fruits, vegetables and the occasional home-baked good there. You will also find little Irish trinkets and souvenirs. These markets appear on Fridays or at the weekend. They are also big business during festival season, where there are more stalls than usual and the produce tends to be a bit cheaper :)
