In addition to the dialogues, the selection of reading materials and practice activities will make the content as rich and varied as possible, in order to stimulate the learners’ interest. And what is better, learners don’t need to study Chinese characters.

Isn't the clue in the last line? It looks like a 'Chinese lite' course, introducing you to the spoken language. It's a course in which you learn communicative Chinese without the reading/writing element.  The Chinese words are transliterated into the Latin alphabet.
