How do you call the place where people exchange dollars into euros, hryvnias into euros etc.? After looking up in the dictionary I came across the word "currency exchange office" but wikipidia says "A bureau de change"... and how do you call the places where you exchange one currency for another?

You would call it "currency exchange" in English, but the French "bureau de change" is internationally recognised (in the same way that French turns up in passports and post office slips).

It's currency exchange in English, bureau de change in France. In the US, the most well known company is Travelex, and you'll see them in major international airports.

We usually call such a place, very simply, the money changer.

Both are correct. It also depends where you are in the world. It is the same place whether you are getting a new currency or returning it.
