How to descibe an exciting atmosphere?
I want to describe it when everybody feels exciting, like in a football match, can I say "heat the atmosphere"? (I think it sounds more like in science, not in a metaphorical way) What I mean to say is that the match is too intense and exciting that it makes everybody feel hot, or st like that. And are there any idioms to describe similar feeling?

The phrase 'The atmosphere was electric' comes to mind.

Quick note: feels [verb]ed. "Everybody feels excited." The phrase, "the match is exciting" is perfectly correct. Be careful not to mix -ed and -ing up! ;)
