Unfortunately I haven't been in Armenia, but I have friends who have been and they said the people are extremely friendly and it safe for tourists. They specially recommended me to vist Nagorno Karabagh. I studied a wee bit about Stalin and his impact in the Armenian economy. But it was 16 years ago and to be honest, I don't remember much :-) I don't have a good memory. I went to an Armenian restaurant in London. The flat bread (lavash) as well as the yoghurt soup were delicious. Also, there was Armenian music playing in the restaurant and although I couldn't understand a single words, it was truly brilliant! :-)

I know very little about Armenia. There is a fairly large population of ethnic Armenian-Americans in the United States and I went to summer camp with a kid whose last name was Petrossian. I'm aware of the Armenian composer Aram Khachaturian and have a recording of the Gayne Ballet Suite; "Seber Dance" was actually an instrumental song hit in the United States during the 1950s. I'm aware of the Armenian-American composer Alan Hovhaness and have recordings of some of his works, notably "Mysterious Mountain." With regard to a terrible, horrific historic event that occurred around the time of the FIrst World War, I know little about it and think it is too controversial to say much about beyond the bare fact: yes, I know it happened.

I heard that despite the fact people think its a Muslim country, it was the first country who took the Cristianism. Moreover I know Armenia doesnt get on very well with Turkey and one of the most important reason is thar Turkey doesnt accept the murder of Armenia people time ago. The other think I believe it is a Country with beautiful girls, with big eyes and brown skin (but I'm not sure about that). I could see that when I saw the Eurovision festival celebrated in Armenia =).
