Does "schedule for" mean to arrange something for doing something?

Yes it does. It can also mean a few other things but the word "schedule" remains the same
Let me check my schedule.

To me in this context, as a verb, "to schedule" someone or something means to put on the calendar. To schedule something or someone can include the arranging part of the process but it must also the final objective of agreeing on time and place and recording those details somewhere, if not on a calendar at least in your mind. I tried to schedule Tennis lessons for Wednesday afternoon, but I could not, so I scheduled them for Friday morning.
