what's "tooks"?
I heard someone say "It tooks...." But I can find nothing in the Dict. help~~~~

Its improper grammar. There is no word tooks. Took is the only word. When the person said "tooks" they were simply talking slang.
For example"
It tooks me a while to get there.
It tooks me a long time.
This is talking in slang and you DO NOT want to learn this. It is improper.

"Tools" isn't a work. You use "took" like in "it took an hour to get there." Past tense
Do you mean "takes"? It takes an hour to get there. Present tense
