To "prime" something means to prepare it. When you prime a gun, you lock and load it. So, when you prime your mind, you prepare it. Example: "Prime your mind to learn." In this example of "wear yourself out", it means to make yourself tired from working too much. Example: I worked a long shift today and wore myself out.
