Hi, I wonder if there is any difference when saying "volunteer conservationists" and "voluntary conservationists".

Probably they are different, but it's hard to say without some context. What is the sentence you are using one of them in?

I agree with Ed that it would be better to go for the compound noun 'volunteer conservationists' in your sentence.
