Firstly, corrections in your sentence: When I was watching a film, I heard a man say... P.S. Please correct me if I have some mistakes in my question so that I can improve my English. Okay so what does "I kind of like it" mean... Here is a sample conversation: Woman: "Do you like my new hair style?" Man: "I kind of like it." This means that he only likes it a bit. The "kind of" shows a sense of hesitation. There is something about her new hair style that he doesn't really like. It splits the difference between saying "I like it." and "I hate it." So, he is leaning towards not liking it.
