What does「約一畝歩ぐらい」mean?
Hi, I have to translate a text for my japanese class, but I'm having trouble with these words. It is an land mesurement, but I'm not sure of the translation. Does 「約一畝歩ぐらい」mean "about 100 square meters" ?
Here is the whole sentence :
「約一畝歩ぐらいの赤土の崖がそれなのであった。」
I'm also having trouble with the end of it. Can someone explain it to me? :)

That was an approximately 99.17 square meters red cliff.
