a person who works in his company but wants to vist his family overseas. is it correct to say :
He is approved of a home leave?(home leave means temperary leave his company for visiting his family?)

Yes. "He is approved for home leave in XXX". This assumes XXX is his home country.

"a leave of absence to go home " is a good way to say it......" a leave " is very much a military term meaning a " leave . For example a solder would say " I am on a 30 day leave " . A vacation and a leave are similar.Correct is to say " for a leave " not " of a leave "
