'Moody' is a common word to use in normal speech and writing, 'capricious' is not.
If you describe someone as moody, it means that they are often in a bad mood. It's a negative term. 'Capricious' means changeable, but you may as well forget about this word - it is very rarely used, and it is never used in day to day English conversation.
