Yes they are completely different. "Said" rhymes with "head" and "bed" "sad" rhymes with "mad"," had" and "lad".

Hi! There is a slightly diffrence between these two words. Said has a shorter pronunciation than sad. It is proununced in a sharper way. Good Luck!
