Should I write "mail" or "email"? While I'm sure the right form is email, recently I see that many websites use just mail. ("mail account", "your mail and password", ...) In Italian, if you say "mail" we understand that is referred to an electronic mail, because we don't use the term mail in other ways. But in English it also has the old meaning. What about the English language? Do you still use only "email" when you mean electronic mail? Maybe... I know, I could ask "what do you mean when you say Apple?" ehehh... Anyway, I'm really curious to know your opinion about email or mail, and if yuo use mail also when you talk about email. Thanks

In a digital context, some people use 'mail' to mean 'email', because it is clear from the context what this means. However, in the 'real world' we tend to say email, so as to avoid confusion. For example, you might say 'I don't know his phone number, so I'll email him instead'. You wouldn't say 'mail' here, because it might not be clear what you mean.
