On the other side we saw three red deer coming down the valley - and we stopped multiple times to enjoy this beautiful sight.
The river coming down from Hogrenningsbotnen was also big due to flood, and we had to wade in the outflow of the lake to be able to come over. From here, the trip continued northwest to lake number 1208 in Hellsetebotnen. A bridge of snow a little below the outlet became our rescue, making us able to continue along the west side of the lake towards Skålabreen. We passed the lower part of the glacier without a rope, but a rope was used during the last part, up towards Stryneskåla. By now, we had spent about 7 hours in a moderate tempo and with long breaks in the beautiful weather.
Eventually we reached the target - at Skåla we had a good meal in 17 degrees, and it was almost no wind. The view was slightly reduced due to haze, but otherwise there were little to complain about.
We walked down the path to Tjugen. Here there was a lot of snow down to Skålavatnet, so the return trip went quikly.
Hope this helps you :)
