Could someone explain this answer:
I was checking some of my answers in the answer key and am confused as to why answer 3 starts with 'pere wa' instead of 'watashi wa'..... I have tried to look back at the lessons but I don't see this word anywhere...

ペレ is actually a proper name. It's "Pelé", a retired Brazilian footballer.

ペレはサッカーをします。ペレはバスケットボールをしません。
Pelé plays soccer. pelé doesn't play basketball.
