Hello, I don't think either necessarily have to be a character within the story. A subjective view is perhaps more likely to represent a character within a story, as they are reacting more personally to events. However, a narrator could just be opinionated without actually being a character that is involved in the story. A limit point of view only really means that the narrator is not omniscient (they are not aware of everything that occurs). A narrator could have a limit point of view regardless of whether they are a character within the story or not. Hope this helps. :)
