What is the difference between "mener," "amener" and "emmener"? What is the difference in the meanings of "mener," "amener" and "emmener"? I seem to mix them up quite frequently.

Mener is more like lead. Amener and emmener have the same meaning but not use for same thing. For the both you take with you an animal or a person from one place to another place. But when you use amener you're supposed to leave this person or animal when you arrive in your destination. You use emmener when you want to stress the place that you leave. ( ex : I come from New York, je te l'emmène.)
