Going To or Will? In daily life is there a real distinction between the following structures: "I am going to + verb" and "I will + verb..." ? Or they can be used in interchangeable way?

'I am going to' suggests an intention or a plan. I will suggests a confirmation that it 'will' happen, therefore more probable

Ho intenzione di comprare una borsa a Milano. - I am going to buy a bag in Milan. (o forse non a Milano) Comprerò una borsa a Milano. - I will buy a bag in Milan (solo a Milano , perché ci vado per questo motivo)
