About soccer
Hi, everyone
If I am talking about a soccer game, could I say the following?
"Barcelona bounced back from a bad start to defeat Real Madrid and sail through to Champions League quarter-finals."
Please, tell me what sounds odd and what is wrong. Please, I need to improve my English.
Thank you in advance

Oi Gabriel,
"Barcelona bounced back from a bad start to defeat Real Madrid and then sailed through to the Champions League quarter-finals."
Make sure you maintain the past tense and don't forget to use articles with specific titles.
I hope this helps!
Boa Sorte,
Greg

Your sentence is fine. The only adjustment it needs is to add a 'the' before 'Champions League quarter-finals.'
"Barcelona bounced back from a bad start to defeat Real Madrid and sail through to the Champions League quarter-finals."
The verb forms are all fine : it is correct that both 'defeat' and 'sail' are in the infinitive form, because they both follow on directly from 'bounced back to...'.
It's a nice sentence, with good use of natural idioms.
