there are times when we would willing to give everything we posses to save our lives, but why we might grudge paying a surgeon a high fee for offering us a precise service?

Well, regarding "selling" in a broad sence of the word, as exchanging posessions or attainments, it is possible to say that we sell something all time. The main is to always assign adecuate price for what we are "selling" or "buying". You understand, if you want too much from people for your service or help or a kind of stuff, it is not a trade - it is robbery!
