"시원섭섭하다"
- 시원하다: cool and crisp(of weather, breeze, etc). Nicely resolved once and for all (of a pesky problem).
- 섭섭하다: sorry because one has to separate with someone/something one likes (= 서운하다, 아쉽다).
- 시원섭섭하다: feeling glad ("good riddance") and sorry ("hate to see them go") at the same time.
If you had a roommate you liked but who also gave you a lot of headache by always making a mess of the room:
항상 방을 엉망으로 만들던 룸메이트가 떠나게 돼서 시원섭섭하다.
=> I feel both glad and sorry seeing my roommate leave who always made a mess of the room.
고생하며 공부했던 수학 과목을 끝내니 시원섭섭하다.
=> Finishing the math course I struggled with, I feel glad and sorry at the same time.
