German_ Adjektiv Deklination
Hi All!
I am in trouble with a sentence. Any help will be appreciated.
The sentence is:
"Sämtliche wichtigen Arbeiten wurden vom Chef persönlich überwacht."
I really don't understand which conjugation is this. Why "sämliche" and why "wictigen"?
Thank you!

Saemtliche (all) in this case behaves like an indefinite article, and "wichtig" conjugates to "wichtigen" by the conjugation rule. (plural, nominativ)

'sämtliche' behaves like the definite article 'die' (Plural). With the definite plural article, the adjective gets the ending -en:
die wichtigen Arbeiten.
The same as 'alle': alle sämtlichen Arbeiten, but not the same as 'viele': viele wichtige_ Arbeiten.

because "Arbeiten" is plural, the first adjectiv "saemtlich" should with "e" and the second adjectiv "wichtig" should with "en". this is the rule.
