Swap and/or switch?
Hi,
Are there any differences between "switch" and "swap"?
Is it like the difference between change and exchange?
For example, if you say "l'd like to switch/swap seats with you", does it mean the same, i.e; I take your seat and you take mine?

In the situation you describe, "switch" and "swap" are equivalent in meaning. "Swap" is slightly less formal, but the intention is clearer that they would take your seat, and you would take theirs. "Switch" is used a couple more contexts, but "swap" nearly always means that two things exchange or take one another's position.
