Hi Lolita,
Linking verbs 'link' (connect) the subject or noun in the sentence with the adjective which refers to it (the subject/noun).

They link a subject with an adjective which describes it.
e.g. I am happy. This food tastes good.
The contrast is with dynamic verbs which describe an activity.
e.g. He cooks tasty food.
