What Does 'Vale' Mean and How Is It Used. I though that 'vale' only means 'ok' in spain, but a friend of mine told me there's more to it. It can also be used to indicate 'no', but his explanation was not very clear. What are the other ways to use 'vale'? !Muchas Gracias!

Yes, as Ruben said, "vale" means OK in spain but is not widely used out of spain. The other meaning is the third person conjugation of the verb "valer" from the noun "valor". Ruben is right, give him the credits!

Cuando dice "no" quizá se refiere a "Vale ya", que es una expresión que quiere decir , en ciertos casos, "Se terminó", una especie de negativa a seguir con lo que se está haciendo. Muchas veces decimos sólo "vale", sin el ya. Pero como dice Ruben ahora es más frecuente su uso pera asentir, decir sí.

Yes, vale=ok but I don't think it is used to indicate "no". It can also be used as a verb (valer), for example: it costs 5 € = vale 5€.

It(He,She) costs(suits) is used to refer instead of saying the name of a person says costs(suits). Ej:ana leave me in paz/vale leave me alone

el vale se usa para referirse en vez de decir el nombre de una persona dice vale . ej:ana dejame en paz/vale dejeme en paz
