What is the difference between arouse and rouse ?Can we say "rouse one's curiosity"

The both mean more or less the same thing but are often used in different situations. You arouse in a figurative sense while you usually rouse in a physical manner.
ex. My interest in learning English has been aroused.
I need to rouse my brother out of bed before we're late.
