A question about British culture I don't know why some British musicians sing in American pronunciation. For example, at the beginning of 'drag me down' of One Direction, Harry sing 'I've got fire for a heart' in American pronunciation. Besides 'I've got' is a casual British expression. I mean some British sing in AP with British expression. I want them to sing in BP because I like British English.

In music, it's all about what sounds best. Also, One Direction is more of a poppy, mainstream band, and singing in the American accent probably helps them sell records.

It's happened for decades. But not all bands and singers do it. I recommend Madness, the Kinks, Squeeze, the Proclaimers, and Ed Sheeran, to start with.

"Besides 'I've got' is a casual British expression." No, not quite. It's very American as well. This is another of many myths about BrE vs. AmE.
