to nick a draw What does nick mean in the following sentence: Robert Lewandowski scores with final kick as Bayern Munich nick draw at Hertha Berlin I Googled the word 'nick', but couldn't get the meaning and its usage, but I came across another sentence with probably the same usage: Sunderland are 22/1 to nick a draw in the closing minutes here. I guess nick here means to steal, but aren't sure. Need your help, thanks a lot.

I guess it means "to reach a draw through luck or chance", if we understand "nick" to be "steal". "Steal a draw from certain defeat" if you like.

Yes - "steal" in a quick and informal way. It's a British slang word. [You open a bag of crisps on the table and your friend is with you] "Hey! Don't nick my crisps without asking me first!"

In British slang 'nick' can also refer to a police station. (Although obviously not in this case).
