When it comes to pronunciation, and words they share. Which of the two is more closely related to French?

From my experience, I can say:
- French and Italian might be very similar in grammar
- French and Spanish might be similar in some vocabulary (but also Italian and English)
- French and Portuguese might be similar in pronunciation
It's true that Italian native speakers (or advanced Italian speakers) learn quickly French, but Italians rarely reach a soft pronunciation.

Of the three the two that are closest are Spanish and Italian, that doesn't really answer your question but it is true.
