How do you say "bidon" in English? (image for reference9
Hello everybody,
What do you call this item? It's called "bidon" in Spanish. I found "jerrycan", but I think that is only for gasoline. In the image you will see one for a more domestic use.

Thanks in advance for your help,

The word "jerrycan" is used to describe the container for carrying gasoline/petrol and is shaped like the object in your picture. A jerrycan carries many quarts/liters of liquid.
Otherwise, it's a plastic bottle.
The word "jug" is usually limited to open containers (no cover) that are used for serving drinks like water or sangria. Jugs generally have a handle, too.

I would say water bottle and specify the capacity.

Thank you...isn't "jug" also used for serving juice? The "bidon" is kind of more for carrying any type of liquid.
