For me it means making taking some time to do something I would like to do. Whether it's reading a book, taking a walk or playing a sport. Just for the enjoyment. Just to take some time to relax and not worry about work, money, my to do list, etc.
For example, if I am working a lot and always trying to learn something new in my spare time because it will benefit my job then someone might say to me 'Make sure to take time out for yourself'. I.e - You should take some time out and enjoy doing something you like to do because it's not always about work. We need to do things we enjoy also, just for the enjoyment. We need to relax and recuperate.
Otherwise we will more than likely become tired, irritable and generally not enjoy life if we never take the time to relax and enjoy things as well.

I think it's similar to stopping working or studying and spend more time for relaxing yourself, it's just temporary and you can come back to work/study after that :)))

Hi Jesús,
It means to allocate some time to do things that make you feel happy, pursue your hobbies or interests. The main purpose for "taking time out" is to free your mind from work and feel relaxed on doing things that truly make you happy.
