Yes, they are very similar. 'Cutting edge' and 'leading edge' are usually the most modern.
There is a phrase 'bleeding edge' - which is a play on 'leading edge' - there is an implication that if you are too advanced, you might be hurt by unexpected failures or misfeatures of your new product.
