This table is big
שלום!
I have a question, could you help me בבקשה?
In my book, there are two sentences for "This table is big". Are both acceptable in Hebrew? If yes, is there one of them which is more common in daily life?
1- a) זה שולחן גדול
b) השולחן הזה גדול
תודה רבה!

Hello Vitor! Well, actually these sentences have different (though similar) meanings.
זה שולחן גדול - This is a big table.
השולחן הזה גדול - This table is big.
Both sentences can be used in appropriate situations. I hope it helps.

Shalom Vitor, For all intents and purposes the two phrases are identical. Both of them are pointing directly and monovalently to a specific table. The second one is using הא הידיעה Hei hayedia, which means the letter Hei which lets you know which entity is being pointed out.
