In this context, "material" countable or uncountable?
Hi friends,
In this context, the word "material" countable or uncountable? If countable, do we need "an" before "original material" ?
We have researched our script over a year and it is based on original material.
Thanks in advance.

This use of "material" is uncountable, so there is no article.

In this sentence, "material" is used as a non-count noun. And we sometimes use "material" as a count noun - for example, "Her dress was made from many different materials."
