나는 이제 어린이 그림책을 읽고있다.
I copied the opening page of the book here below:
깊은 산속에서
오소리가 혼자 살았어.
오소리는 혼자여도
하자도 안 심심했어.
Could you please explain why the subject particle for 오소리 is changed from 가 to 는 in these two sentences?

That is the common usage of 은, 는 and 이, 가.
'이/가' is used for the first introduction of main character.
'은/는' is used for reference of the above-mentioned character.
e.g.
옛날 옛날에 할아버지와 할머니가 살았습니다. 그 노부부는 자식이 없었는데~
