what is "shake your chain" ?
when I watched the tv "Castle", boss told Beckett "shake your chain".
I thought that mean it is joke. I checked dictionary, but I couldn't find those sentences.
So please tell me what that mean.

We have a few idioms like this..."pull your chain," "rattle your cage," "shake your chain," etc. When you shake someone's chain, you are not only getting their attention but you are also upsetting or irritating them. It's as if you were shaking the chain of a sleeping guard dog. You are not only going to wake him up but you are also going to get him barking.
Hope this helps!
